The Iconic Print
Let’s talk leopard print. You either love it or hate it-there’s no in between. Some think it’s gaudy and trashy, while others think it’s chic. However you feel about it, there’s no denying that it’s back like it never left. Not to mention, it works surprisingly well with other trends. We’ll get into that later, but first, let’s get one thing straight. The print I’m referring to is LEOPARD print, not “cheetah print”. Lots of people refer to it as cheetah print, but fail to realize that the cheetah has a different coat pattern. Cheetah print is more like polka dots, while, on the other hand, leopard print has a pattern with irregularly shaped spots.
Okay, now that that’s out of the way, let’s get into the fun stuff. When you think of leopard print, you might think of hot pink Y2K Snooki leopard print, or luxurious, hot-housewife leopard print, like what Gloria Pritchett often wore in Modern Family. Side note: Gloria’s wardrobe was to DIE for. Anyways, that’s the beauty of leopard print. It’s so versatile and works with A LOT. I won’t go as far as to say it’s a neutral, but it’s pretty close, haha.
That brings me to my next point. As I stated earlier, leopard print works surprisingly well with other trends. Right now, lace is a staple in many women’s wardrobes and it just so happens to go great with leopard print. This past summer (2025), leopard and lace everything was flying off the racks, and I do mean everything. Pant sets, skirt sets, tops, dresses, even bras and underwear. I’ve bought some leopard print items myself, including 2 pairs of slippers (I know I’m extra lol), a phone case, and a lace and leopard print dress. Anyways, let’s answer the question- wear or tear? The answer is…*drum roll*, it’s up to you. Wear whatever you want, however you want. If you like the Y2K leopard print aesthetic, wear it! If you like the hot bombshell leopard print aesthetic, wear it! And don’t just wear it, wear it with confidence!
